Take a Trip to North India in This Winter

North India is where you’ll find some of India’s most prized possessions. The Taj Mahal, the city of New Delhi and the place known as the “Pink City,” or Jaipur, are just a few of the most popular destinations for the visitors of northern India. It makes India one of the most interesting places to tour in the world!

There are a few important facts that everyone should know about India. If they you don’t know already, they may even encourage you to visit:

Your Money Will Go Farther

Currently, 1 USD is equal to about 67.15 Indian Rupees. The power of the U.S. dollar has been increasing steadily against the Rupee in the past few years. This means a dollar will stretch farther in India than compared to touring a Euro based country.

For those in the Euro zone, 1 Euro would equally 73.7 rupees today. While the Euro isn’t as strong as it was in 2014 and 2015, the Euro has also been increasing in the past year against the Rupee and is still incredibly strong. Whichever currency you use, it will be better spent of north Indian tours than in most other countries.

Warm Climate

Even in the winters, India still experiences pretty decent temperatures. Although it has many different climates, the norther part of India tends to stay comfortable. It has an annual temperature between 22.5 and 27.5 degrees Celsius (72.5-81.5 degrees Fahrenheit). It makes it the perfect place to go during the harsh winters elsewhere.

Diversity is Common

Although India is a pretty large country, it isn’t the biggest in the world. In fact, it ranks in at number 7 on the list of biggest countries in the world, yet manages to have the second largest population worldwide. The only country with more people than India is China with 1.3 billion while India is close in second with 1.2 billion.

India’s large number of citizens makes for a multitude of different cultures packed in to one country. It is a highly religiously diverse country with Christianity, Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam and more! There are also around an estimated 1,652 languages in the country, but the most common and official languages are Hindi and English.

Democracy

India is one of the few countries with thriving democracy in Asia but definitely the biggest democracy in the world. There are over 400,000,000 voters making it the most actively participated system ever.
